Dan and Me

For a much belated Mother's Day/Birthday present for Dan's mom we took a few shots of one another.

Dan was very excited about taking a shot with the emergency call box.

This was actually taken at the entrance to a Jewish retirement home.

Just the two of us

At home in the apartment. Unfortunately, the cats would not cooperate for picture time.

Lunch with the girls

Friday a few of us went over to Mignon's for lunch since we hadn't seen each other in forever. We each brought a little something and had a nice time catching up and digging in. Unfortunately I had to leave early to pick up the hubby because Dan's work decided to kick everyone out early - apparently couldn't wait another hour to start their three day weekend. (I gave him rides to and from work all last week because he's still so tired from the pneumonia.)

Anyway, I'm trying to be better about taking pictures of people and not just landscapes and animals. So here are a few pics from the day.

A smiling Cedony holding half a tomato over a frosty the snowman bowl... out of context, this picture is sort of random. But she was making the salad that eventually did fill the bowl.

Pneumonia and Spring

So, as most of you know, Dan has been battling a bought of pneumonia recently. Wednesday he came home from work early because he was so tired. That evening his temperature was 102.5F but by the next day it shot up to 103.8 at which point we decided we should call the doctor. After a round of blood tests and x-rays, it was determined he had a full blown case of pneumonia and he was put on some heavy duty antibiotics which have made him feel sooo much better. Now he is resting and trying to get back to normal so he can return to work. I'm still looking for a temp position so at least I can take care of him.

On a lighter note, spring has arrived in Boston and the neighborhood is blooming in celebration. Enjoy

Mother's Day at the Farm

Now that classes are finally out and I'm done for the semester, we went to see Aunt Kap and Uncle Jon this past Sunday, which also happened to be Mother's Day. Zack and his girlfriend Jennifer were there to spend time with family before they start their summer jobs. And Laura had some exciting news - Jake proposed and they'll be getting married sometime in the near future. All in all the weather was beautiful, everyone was happy and excited, and it was a very nice way to pass a Sunday.

They took us around on a tour of the new and exciting things that have been going on at the Olde Horse Inn. They've cleared out the old dog pen and some trees to open up the area.

And they got some chicks for cat entertainment and future egg making.

The biddies were cute

The weather was wonderful and the dogs were besides themselves after being cooped up inside due to all the recent rain. Rufus got worn out early and Indie just didn't understand.

A proud toad that Laura found. As you know, if it moves I must touch.

Timmy surveyed all from roosts around the farm.

In addition to birdies, Uncle Jon got bees. Here they are chilling in their hive.

Those bees not busy making honey and cleaning house pollinating the fruit trees.

Here they are buzzing around as Uncle Jon opens their home and explains about bee keeping.

Jennifer and Zack's mother's day present to Aunt Kap was a tiara and a pinata. Of course she had to be blindfolded before taking a swing at things.

She swings ...

And she hits...

The spoils

And because it isn't a Siddall family outing without at least one explosion, Uncle Jon filled the little dino with gas and lit him up.

It made an awful boom that sounded for all the world like a shotgun blast. We all ran to hide in case the cops showed and tried our best to clean up what was left.

We left soon after with homemade syrup, cake, and rolls in our arms. The syrup was great on pancakes, the rolls made delicious sandwiches, and the cake was quickly devoured by a certain husband.
